Dear Esteemed State of Virginia High School Choral Directors and Choir Members,
As the Executive Board of the JMU Student Chapter of ACDA, it is our distinct pleasure to invite you to participate in our one-day 'side by side' choral festival: High School Choral Invitational (HSCI)! This event is co-sponsored by JMU Chapter of ACDA, and the University Men's and Women's Choruses.
This one-day event centers on range specific ensembles (SSAA and TTBB - 2 pieces per ensemble), with an SATB finale (1 - 2 pieces).
Our HSCI rehearsal day includes matrix sessions, question and answer periods, the opportunity to visit the JMU campus, and perform in the renowned Forbes Center for the Performing Arts, as well as meet and share with collegiate choral singers!
Our clinicians will be JMU’s very own Dr. Jo-Anne van der Vat-Chromy and Dr. W. Bryce Hayes.

*Registration will be held on Thursday, December 7th at 7am*
This registration is a 3-part process and is first come, first serve, based on the registration form's time stamp.

- The first 7 schools that fill out their registration form after 7 am will be notified of their confirmed invitation to the festival. All others that register will be placed on a waitlist and be given their number.
- Schools that are accepted must send in a $50 deposit. This also serves as the festival fee for your first 5 students Please note that placement is not guaranteed until we receive your deposit!
- Once we receive the deposit we will send out your first invoice for the rest of students attending, as well as a confirmation of your placement in the festival.
Security Deposit
The security deposit will be $50 for every school and will cover the fee of 5 students. If you are bringing less than 5 students, please send in a check for $10/student as your security deposit.
Only the receipt of your school's $50 security deposit will confirm your registration.
We ask that deposit checks arrive at JMU no later than November 15, 2020 (to be confirmed). If there are problems with your school bookkeeping that would delay a deposit check, please contact us as soon as possible.

Festival Fees
The security deposit will cover your first 5 students. After the deposit, the price per student is $9 a person. Once we receive the deposit, you will be sent a confirmation email of your acceptance, and you will receive an invoice for the cost of the remaining students as well as your meal vouchers.
Please note that other required expenses for participation in JMU ACDA's HSCI include: The festival repertoire (please refer to the Repertoire List for full details on the repertoire and purchase information), transportation, and miscellaneous pocket money (perhaps some JMU merchandise).

Cancelation Policy
We realize that, in spite of our best efforts, sometimes things happen that are beyond our control. If, for any reason, you need to cancel a confirmed participation spot for your school, by notifying us on or before January 15th, 2021 (to be confirmed) you will receive a full refund or any remitted payments. In this way we can ensure that your funds are not wasted, as well as that another school on the waiting list has time to prepare and participate in your place.
Once You've Registered
If anything is needed to be changed in your registration the festival itself, please email those changes ASAP!
Throughout the the next few months, you will receive updates on the festival, including repertoire, billings, and other logistical details!
